managing 4 mmos and being able to give stable content and support to all of them seems like mountains of work and with how companies operate nowadays on milk the latest hype, a change in focus is gonna affect quality especially since this is gonna be their new "flagship" PA are going from being a company with 1 mmo actively supported (and many would argue about mismanagement of BDO as is in terms of lackluster content, poor communication etc.) Now they are planning to have 2-3 more MMOs (not sure if plan 8 falls under the typical mmo category) but the point is. The "no reason to play black desert anymore" comes from the point that with its release support and focus on content will probably shift from BDO to Crimson Desert. And it's not even a matter of restrictions on their part, it's a matter of disrespectful business practice. But now knowing it's being rebooted when this game has barely scratched the surface of being as great as it could be, upsets me. But that was off the implication this game will be here a very long time. Now, it is entirely on me, but I've invested a lot in this game. But being left in the complete dark leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It could very well come out 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, 4 months from now, who knows. But what player base, after spending so much time, money, and effort into a game KNOWING it will no longer be focused when a very obvious reboot (a word they refuse to outright use) is going to occur. I feel BDO had been doing very well, and PA made it seem as though BDO is gonna go very far for a very long time. I understand it's business, I understand money has to be made, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. What bothers me the most about this is the dishonesty and manipulation. Hope that Pearl Abyss delivers the new true MMO we expect! I don't the game to be like that and want a full MMORPG, but until I see true MMO HUD and hundreds of players in a city, I'm holding my breath lul. If you want co-op PVEvP new game, online but with more story telling > Crimson Desert. Imo, (pure speculation) they advertised Crimson Desert as an MMO because their are known for this genre, but it could be a Destiny like game, where you can connect with a few people but not a true MMORPG. And I don't think Pearl Abyss wants their flagship game to be dead. Even after the game releases, time and money invested on BDO does count and there will be players anyway. We still have questions not answered, and BDO will be alive for a few years at least. Because it makes think that is has absolutely nothing related to with it, which is not true. Saying that Crimson Desert is not a prequel, period, is kinda hard imo. "You could even say that Crimson Desert was born of a desire to tell the story of Black Desert's past."Įverything else is new, true, but it is based on Black Desert world and wants to develop BDO's past story, so.
